About
The Michel has been rebuilt several times after fire and war, but its Baroque form still shapes the skyline. The pale interior, trimmed in white and gold, is flooded with light and has room for a large congregation. Its copper-clad tower, long a landmark for sailors on the Elbe, has a viewing platform high above the harbour.
Best time to go: Take the lift or stairs up the tower for views of the harbour, then sit in the bright white nave.
