At the top stands Fort Imperial, built by the French in the early nineteenth century, which played a key role in the defence of the city in the 1990s. It now houses a museum on the Homeland War, and the view over the walls and the Elaphiti Islands is unforgettable.
Best time to go: Take the cable car up for sunset, or hike the zigzag path in the cool of the morning.
