About
Built and strengthened between the thirteenth and seventeenth centuries, the walls protected the wealthy Republic of Ragusa for centuries. The circuit of around two kilometres passes towers, bastions and forts, with views down over terracotta roofs, church domes and the Adriatic.
Best time to go: Start at opening or in the last two hours of the day, walking anticlockwise with water to hand.
