Dubai Mall sits at the foot of the Burj Khalifa and forms the commercial core of Downtown Dubai. With more than 1,200 shops it is the biggest mall in the city, and it doubles as the entrance to the tower's observation decks. Many visitors come less for the shopping than for the food courts and the air-conditioned walk between the metro and the fountain lake.
Best time to go: Enter from the metro link or the fountain side, and use it as a cool base between the Burj Khalifa and the lake.
