About
Inaugurated in 1891, the theatre follows the horseshoe design of the Italian opera houses, with tiers of boxes rising beneath a painted ceiling. It is home to the province's symphony orchestra and ballet, and its lavish interior and fine acoustics have made it a cherished venue for over a century.
Best time to go: Book a performance by the provincial orchestra or ballet to see the auditorium in use.
