About
Designed by the English architect John Loughborough Pearson, the cathedral was begun in 1906 and only finished in 2009. It is one of the few cathedrals in the world with a true stone-vaulted ceiling built in modern times, and its carvings include Australian flora and fauna among the Gothic detail.
Best time to go: Step inside to see the stone vaulting, then look for the carvings of native plants and animals.
