Opened in 1908 after two decades of construction, the Colón blends Italian and French styles and has welcomed the world's great singers, conductors and dancers. Its auditorium rises through seven tiers beneath a dome painted by Raúl Soldi, and its acoustics are regularly ranked among the finest anywhere.
