Completed in 1894, the Reichstag was gutted by fire in 1933 and badly damaged in the Second World War. After reunification Norman Foster remodelled it for the Bundestag, adding a glass dome whose mirrored cone reflects daylight into the debating chamber below. A gently rising ramp circles the dome, with views across the Tiergarten and government quarter.
