À propos
Opened in 1997, the museum was created to preserve the heritage of the Nubian people, whose homeland was largely flooded by the High Dam. Its galleries trace Nubian history from prehistory through the pharaonic, Christian and Islamic periods, with statues, jewellery and a reconstructed village house. The building itself echoes traditional Nubian architecture.
Meilleur moment pour y aller: Visit before exploring the Nubian villages, and linger in the landscaped garden outside.
