Established on the site of the colony's first farm, the garden is one of the oldest scientific institutions in Australia. Its lawns, palm groves and themed beds curve around Farm Cove, and the walk out to the sandstone seat known as Mrs Macquarie's Chair frames the Opera House and Harbour Bridge together in a single view.
