Begun in the twelfth century by the Lamberti family and raised to its present height in the fifteenth, the tower is the tallest in Verona. Its upper section, added after a lightning strike, is built in lighter stone than the brick below. A lift and a long staircase lead to the bell chamber, where the view takes in the Arena, the river and the hills beyond.
Beste Besuchszeit: Go up in the late afternoon for the warm light over the rooftops and the bend of the Adige.
