About
The pagoda was first raised in 652 within the Da Ci'en Temple, where Xuanzang translated the Buddhist texts he had collected on his long pilgrimage. Rebuilt and heightened over the centuries, it now leans slightly, and it forms part of the Silk Roads World Heritage Site.
Best time to go: Visit in the late afternoon, then stay for the evening fountain show on the square to the north.
