About
The cemetery was established during the Civil War on land that had belonged to the family of Robert E. Lee. Rows of white headstones mark the graves of hundreds of thousands of service members and their families. Visitors come to see the eternal flame at the grave of President Kennedy, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the views from Arlington House.
Best time to go: Plan to see the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the grave of John F. Kennedy.
