About
Once lined with factories and sawmills, the area was redeveloped from the 1970s into a mix of market halls, studios, theatres and a marina. The Public Market is the centre, with fresh seafood, produce and baked goods. Small ferries connect it to downtown across False Creek.
Best time to go: Arrive at the Public Market in the morning to eat among the stalls, then browse the artists' studios.
