About
The cathedral dates from the colonial period and was rebuilt after earthquakes damaged the original, giving it its present Baroque form. Inside are gilded altarpieces and colonial paintings, and a small museum displays religious art and silverwork from the city's churches.
Best time to go: Visit in the morning and look for the museum of religious art attached to the cathedral.
