About
Once the estate of a feudal lord and later an imperial garden, Shinjuku Gyoen opened to the public in 1949. Its lawns, ponds and teahouses are one of Tokyo's best places for cherry blossoms. Alcohol is not allowed.
Best time to go: Spring for cherry blossoms, November for autumn leaves.
