About
Al Noor Island is a landscaped island in the Khalid Lagoon, opened in December 2015 by the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority. It covers about 45,000 square metres of gardens and walkways. Paths lead through the planting, and the island makes an easy pairing with the Al Noor Mosque on the shore opposite. The island is managed by the authority known as Shurooq and is a calm escape from the city's traffic.
Best time to go: Come in the late afternoon and stay into the evening, when the lagoon and skyline are lit.
