About
Opened in 1891 and once lined with the mansions of coffee barons, Paulista was transformed in the twentieth century into the city's financial heart. Today it is also a cultural corridor, with MASP, the Japan House and several cultural centres, and it becomes a vast pedestrian space every Sunday.
Best time to go: Come on a Sunday, when the avenue closes to cars and fills with musicians, cyclists and families.
