About
Our Lady of the Castle was built by the Byzantines and adapted by the Knights Hospitaller as their Latin cathedral, gaining Gothic vaults and arches. Converted into a mosque under the Ottomans, it now houses displays of Byzantine icons and wall paintings in an atmospheric, lofty interior.
Best time to go: Step in near the start of the Street of the Knights and look for the fragments of medieval frescoes.
