About
Founded in the late eighteenth century by Hafiz Ahmed Agha, a Rhodes-born Ottoman official, the library preserves hundreds of manuscripts and early printed books, among them richly illuminated copies of the Quran. Its modest courtyard is a peaceful corner in the busiest part of the old town.
Best time to go: Pause here after the Suleymaniye Mosque opposite, when the little courtyard is quiet.
