About
Created after the end of apartheid, Freedom Park on Salvokop hill is a place of remembrance and reconciliation. Its Wall of Names lists people who died in the conflicts that shaped the country, and a garden of boulders gathered from each province serves as a resting place for the spirits of the fallen. The museum traces the region's story over millions of years.
Best time to go: Take a guided tour in the morning, and look across the valley to the Voortrekker Monument.
