About
Designed by the Norwegian practice Snøhetta and opened in 2008, the opera house is home to the national opera and ballet. Its angled roof of white Italian marble slopes down into the water and works as a public square, while the foyer inside is lined with warm oak. It anchored the regeneration of the Bjørvika waterfront.
Best time to go: Walk up the sloping marble roof at sunset for wide views over the fjord and the new waterfront.
