About
Founded in the 1890s, the museum gathers more than a hundred and fifty buildings moved from towns and valleys around the country. The star is the Gol stave church from the thirteenth century, surrounded by timber farmsteads, storehouses and an old town quarter. Indoor galleries cover folk costume, Sámi culture and everyday life.
Best time to go: Visit on a summer day, when the farmhouses are open and costumed guides demonstrate traditional crafts.
