About
The Fram is said to have sailed further north and further south than any other wooden ship, and visitors can climb aboard and explore its cramped cabins. The museum tells the story of Norwegian polar exploration, from Fridtjof Nansen's Arctic drift to Roald Amundsen's race to the South Pole. The polar vessel Gjøa, first through the Northwest Passage, sits in a neighbouring hall.
Best time to go: Take the summer ferry from the City Hall pier to Bygdøy and combine this with the nearby museums.
