About
Opened in 1913, the terminal was saved from demolition in the 1970s after a campaign supported by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. Its main concourse is crowned by a vaulted ceiling painted with the constellations, and its four-faced clock is a classic meeting place. The lower level holds the Oyster Bar and food hall.
Best time to go: Look up at the painted ceiling from the main concourse, then find the whispering gallery on the lower level.
