About
Maipú has been at the centre of Mendoza's wine industry since the nineteenth century, when Italian and Spanish immigrants planted many of its vineyards. Today visitors cycle between historic wineries, olive oil makers and small producers of liqueurs and preserves, making it one of the easiest wine areas to reach from the city.
Best time to go: Hire a bicycle and ride between wineries and olive oil producers along the quiet country roads.
