About
Coquimbito is named after the Chilean port of Coquimbo and has been planted with vines, olives and fruit trees for generations. Well-known wineries such as La Rural make it a rewarding stop, and its collection of old presses, barrels and tools tells the story of winemaking in Mendoza since the colonial era.
Best time to go: Combine a visit to the wine museum at La Rural with lunch at one of the district's bodegas.
