About
Jemaa el-Fnaa has been the meeting point of Marrakesh for centuries, and its oral traditions earned it a place on UNESCO's intangible heritage list. By day it hosts juice sellers, henna artists and snake charmers; at dusk rows of smoking food stalls appear, and musicians and storytellers draw circles of listeners late into the night.
Best time to go: Come in the late afternoon, watch the food stalls set up from a rooftop café, then wander down as the smoke rises.
