About
Built in the 18th century on the site of the old Alcázar, the palace is still used for state ceremonies. The visit includes the Throne Room, the Royal Armoury and the Royal Pharmacy. The Sabatini Gardens beside it are free.
Best time to go: Weekday mornings; the changing of the guard is on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
