About
Built in the 15th century as a shogun's villa, the Silver Pavilion was never covered in silver. Its understated beauty, sculpted sand garden and moss-covered hillside path make it a favourite of many visitors.
Best time to go: Morning, then walk the Philosopher's Path south.
