About
The park was created in the 1870s on land that had belonged to the dictator Juan Manuel de Rosas, and later landscaped by the French-born Charles Thays. Its lakes and woods hold the Rosedal rose garden, a poets' garden and the planetarium nearby, making it the city's favourite place for weekend picnics and exercise.
Best time to go: Hire a bike on a weekend morning and ride past the lakes to the rose garden in full bloom.
