About
Built to mark the visit of Hadrian in AD 130, the gate has three arches with carved decoration and is flanked by towers. It was once part of the city walls, and the grooves left by carts are still visible in the paving stones.
Best time to go: Pass through at the start of a walk through Kaleiçi.
