About
Completed in the 1980s, the mosque draws on the designs of Mimar Sinan, with four minarets and a great central dome. Its interior is richly decorated with calligraphy, stained glass and chandeliers, and it dominates the skyline of the city centre.
Best time to go: Visit outside prayer times and dress modestly, especially on Fridays.
