About
Completed in 1648 and dedicated by Jahanara Begum, the mosque is built of red sandstone with bold white marble inlay and three domes patterned in zigzag stripes. It stands close to Agra Fort railway station and faces the crowded lanes of the old market, which make an absorbing contrast to the monuments on the river.
Best time to go: Visit outside prayer times, dress modestly and combine it with a walk through the surrounding bazaar.
