نبذة

Sawai Jai Singh II, a keen astronomer, built this observatory in the early eighteenth century beside his palace, and it is the largest of the five he created in northern India. Its instruments measure time, track stars and predict eclipses, and the great Samrat Yantra sundial can tell the local time to within a couple of seconds.

أفضل وقت للزيارة: Hire a guide or use the audio tour, as the instruments make far more sense once explained.
