The Gold Souk lies in the Al Ras locality of Deira, close to the creek and the Spice Souk. More than 380 retailers trade here, most of them jewellers selling gold, platinum and silver pieces as well as bullion and loose stones. Some of the shops have been in business for four decades. Even without buying, a walk under its roof to see the windows packed with gold is a Dubai classic.
