À propos
Kaltaminor stands in front of the Muhammad Aminkhan Madrasah and is sometimes counted as part of it. Muhammad Amin Khan meant it to be the tallest minaret in the Muslim world, planned at 70 metres or more. Construction began in 1852 and stopped abruptly in 1855 at 29 metres, reportedly after the khan died in battle near Sarakhs. Its wide base, over 14 metres across, and brilliant tiled bands make it the emblem of Khiva.
Meilleur moment pour y aller: Photograph it in the early morning or at sunset, when the low light falls on the tiles.
