À propos
Count Philip of Alsace built the Gravensteen in 1180 on the site of an earlier wooden fortress. Over time it served as a court, prison, mint and even a cotton mill before it was restored around 1900. Visitors can explore the keep, the count's residence and a display of arms, and look out from the battlements across the rooftops.
Meilleur moment pour y aller: Pick up the audio guide, which tells the castle's story with humour, and finish on the ramparts.
