Información
This is where Samuel de Champlain established his settlement in 1608, and the square later became a market place. Stone merchants' houses from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries surround it, and a bust of Louis XIV stands in the centre. The little church of Notre-Dame-des-Victoires, begun in 1688, is one of the oldest in North America.
Mejor momento para ir: Visit early in the morning, when the small square is quiet and the stone facades catch the light.
