Opened in 1988 in a modern building designed by Moshe Safdie, the museum incorporates older historic houses. Its permanent exhibitions explore the history of Quebec and the cultures of the First Nations and Inuit. Changing exhibitions cover subjects from world cultures to science and daily life.
