Información
Alfama largely survived the great earthquake of 1755, so its medieval street plan still winds down from the castle towards the Tagus. Washing hangs between tiled houses, the famous tram 28 squeezes through its lanes, and small restaurants keep alive the melancholy fado songs that were born in neighbourhoods like this one.
Mejor momento para ir: Wander without a map in the morning, and return after dark for a fado evening.
