Ak Mosque (White Mosque)

Información

Its name means the White Mosque. Allah Kuli Khan had it built between 1838 and 1842, on foundations that go back to the seventeenth century. It is modest next to Khiva's great madrasas: a single square room under a dome, wrapped on three sides by a portico of carved wooden columns. It sits inside Itchan Kala, the walled old city listed by UNESCO, so it is easy to combine with the palaces and madrasas nearby.
