Información
The museum opened in Frere Hall in 1951, replacing the old Victoria Museum, and moved to its present building in Burns Garden in 1970. It has since grown from four galleries to eleven. Among them is a Quran Gallery holding more than 300 copies of the Quran, around 52 of them rare manuscripts on display, while the other rooms trace the long history of the region.
Mejor momento para ir: Allow a couple of hours and start with the Quran Gallery before the other visitors arrive.
