The Sheikh Zayed Palace Museum, also known as the Al Ain Palace Museum, occupies a residence of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding president of the UAE. It stands beside the Al Ain Oasis in the centre of the city. The palace offers an intimate view of how the ruling family lived and governed before the country's rapid modernisation, and of the city's importance to Sheikh Zayed.
