A marketplace since the twelfth century, the square has witnessed coronation processions, executions and the rallies of 1989. The twin Gothic towers of the Church of Our Lady before Týn rise over the eastern side, the white Baroque Church of St Nicholas stands to the north, and the Jan Hus Memorial of 1915 anchors the centre.
Beste Besuchszeit: Return after dark, when the spires of the Týn church are floodlit and the day crowds have thinned.
