Über diesen Ort
Built in the thirteenth century and enlarged in the fourteenth, this small church once held a thorn said to come from Christ's crown, which gave it its name. Its exterior is a lacework of Gothic pinnacles and sculpture. In the nineteenth century the whole building was taken apart and rebuilt on higher ground to protect it from the river's floods.
Beste Besuchszeit: See it from the opposite bank of the Arno in the late afternoon, when the marble catches the light.
