About
Opened in the late eighteenth century, Maksimir was one of the first public parks in south-east Europe. Laid out in an English landscape style, it has lakes, pavilions and oak woods, and the city zoo.
Best time to go: Walk here on a sunny afternoon, combining the lakes with a visit to the zoo.
