About
The last king of Poland, Stanisław August Poniatowski, turned the estate into a summer residence in the late eighteenth century. The neoclassical Palace on the Isle stands on a lake among woods and follies, and in summer pianists play Chopin beside his Art Nouveau monument.
Best time to go: Come on a summer Sunday for the free Chopin recital at the monument, or early for the peacocks.
