About
According to legend the temple was founded in 628 after fishermen found a statue of Kannon in the river. Pass the giant red lantern of the Kaminarimon, walk the Nakamise shopping street and waft incense smoke over yourself for good health.
Best time to go: Early morning, before the shops of Nakamise open, or after dark when it is lit.
