About
Chorsu Bazaar is the traditional market of Tashkent's old town, selling daily necessities under its blue dome and in the surrounding streets. The name comes from Persian and means crossroads. The present building and its dome were designed by Vladimir Azimov, Sabir Adylov and others in 1980, a late example of Soviet modernism. In July 2026 it was listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site with nine other modernist sites in the city.
Best time to go: Come in the morning when the stalls are fullest, and combine it with the Kukeldash Madrasah next door.
